Founder Of The Dogg Pound Pt.1

Daz Dillinger is a Long Beach born, and bred music producer/recording artist, and one half of rap duo The Dogg Pound.  He began his career under Death Row Records as a producer for co-founder Suge Knights "Paradise", and soon after he was signed to the label which connected him with Dr. Dre on his classic "The Chronic" album. Daz actually met his Dogg Pound partner Kurupt while recording with Dre, and soon after DPG was born! The duo came together on the critically acclaimed album "Doggystyle" by fellow LBC Legend, and Daz's cousin Snoop Dogg. Daz was featured on a track, and received production credits on 2 more songs on Snoop's album, and went on to the "Above The Rim", and "Murder Was The Case" soundtracks. Soon after DPG released their debut album "Dogg Food" which topped the Billboard 100, and eventually went 3x platinum! After Dre's departure from Death Row Daz took on the task as head producer, and worked on hit tracks such as "Amerikaz Most Wanted", "Ambitionz Az A Ridah",  "I Ain't Mad At Cha", and he helped with the "Gridlock" soundtrack, Nate Doggs "G-Funk Classic Vol. 1", and a couple other projects. In 1998 Daz released his debut album "Retaliation, Revenge, and Get Back" which peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Top 100, and eventually went gold. This soon prompted his resignation from the label, and lead to the creation ofD.P.G Recordz. Two years later Daz released his second studio album "RAW", and then united with Kurupt for a second Dogg Pound album entitled "Dillinger & Young Gotti". Shortly after the duo broke up, and Daz went on to be apart of many more projects like the "DPGC" album, which included Snoop Dogg, Soopafly, and Bad Azz, and "Tha Dogg Pound Gangsta LP." In 2005 Daz and Kurupt squashed their differences, and commenced to put out albums such as "Dillinger & Young Gotti II: The Saga Continues", "Letz Ryde Tonight", and the California anthem "Cali Iz Active" featuring Snoop Dogg. In 2016 Daz teamed up with Snoop for the "Cuzznz" album, he runs his own medical marijuana shop, owns a clothing brand and is working with local youth from the area where he grew up in efforts to get them off the streets, and potentially get them their time to shine by helping with their music, and putting them in his videos like the one for his recent song "Gangsta Boogie" featuring Wale. Daz is one of many examples of the possibilities/opportunities you can make for yourself if you put forth the effort, as well as an example of a public figure helping better his community! Thank you Daz what you've done, and do is appreciated! Check out his websites below!
