Block Out Distractions Kill The Competition

Ashley Murray is a Junior at Cal State Long Beach, majoring in sports psychology, and is a middle blocker for the volleyball team at Cal State. From the moment she stepped foot on the floor for the 49ers she has been a force at MB position. As a freshman she was Big West Freshman of the Year, named to the All Big West Freshman Team., 4th in the conference in blocks per set (1.21), and attack percentage (.342). As a sophomore Murray made All-Big West Honorable Mention hitting .319 on the season, and having some really big games along the way. She recorded a season high 16 kills against St. Mary's, had 14 kills along with 6 blocks against LMU, and she hit an immaculate ,737 with 14 kills on 19 swings with ZERO errors! Murray currently averages 2.46 kills per set, and is hitting just above .500 on the season. She had an amazing game against LMU recording 11 kills on 19 swings, and just 1 error. Murray wants to take volleyball as far as she can take it, and with her height, and ability she has exactly what it takes to play at the professional level.
