From a young age Cierra Belvin knew she wanted to go to Poly. She saw the success the program had, and being a Jackrabbit kind of runs in the family seeing that her mom went as well. Belvin has been a student of the game for about 7yrs getting her start on the AAU circuit at age 11. Unfortunately her high school career was setback by two ACL injuries that sat her for Sophomore, and Junior year. Going into her Senior year Belvins, and the entire squad had one goal in mind winning a championshiip. Although they came up short Belvin still feels that the team built a strong bond, and proved that they were a better team than many expected. She learned a lot from her time at Poly, and her Senior year is proof enough of her resilience, and dedication alone. Belvin has entered LMU with plans to walk on her first year, and is still getting use to the flow of practice and her new teammates, but she is confident that Coach Buggs workouts/practices have prepared her for the challenge. Belvin does not have plans to continue her basketball career after college in fact she is studying communications, and wants to eventually become a contract lawyer! We have the utmost respect for this young lady, and we wish her nothing but success as she begins her college career as well as the path to her future career. Follow her on Instagram, and Twitter to stay updated on her stay in the Lion's den!
