Progression Never Stops, Knowledge Never Ceases

We all know the greatness that is Willie McGinest, but do we really know the greatness that is Willie Mc.Ginest? Yeah everybody knows the OLB that was a critical factor in the Patriots 01, and 03-04 Superbowl victories, but do you know him off the gridiron? Well we're here to show both halves that make the whole Willie McGinest. His story started on the east side of Long Beach where he attended Long Beach Poly High School. McGinest was a BEAST on the field, as well as the court receiving All-American recognition in football, and Press Telegram Best in the West/CIF honors in basketball. He went on to play at USC from '90-'93 receiving All-Conference honors for 3 straight years, and in his senior year McGinest was All-American, All Pac-10, and a Lombardi Award finalist. Well deserved after finishing his college career with 193 total tackles (134 solos), 29 sacks for a total loss of 171yds, and 48 tackles for a loss of 238yds. In 1994 the Patriots drafted McGinest with the 4th pick in the 1st round, and from there he went on to become 3rd all time in sacks for the Pats (78),  a 2x Pro Bowler,  3x Super Bowl Champ, and he holds post season records for career post season sacks (16), and most sacks in a playoff game (4.5). After 12 seasons with the Patriots McGinest had a short 3 year stint with the Browns before retiring in '09 as a Patriot. Ok now that's all stuff you probably know, but what you probably didn't know about Willie McGinest is that: He's an ambassador of USC Football, graduated from USC with a degree in Public Administration, owns franchises and different commercial properties that he leases out, and he's an owner/partner of a production company that put together different events, and shows. On top of those entrepreneurial ventures McGinest also runs a non-profit youth football program (LB Patriots), and raises money to give to different charities that range from getting kids school supplies to helping out the local children's hospital while already having charities of his own. Somehow in between all that he finds time to host speaking engagements, autograph signings, and be a TV personality on NFL Network. At the end of the day McGinest just wants to provide. Provide for his family, friends, community, and those within it who can't provide for themselves. He has excelled in that just as he has all other aspects in his life, and has been a public figure within our community for quite some time now because of it. As amazing as this man, and the long list of things he's accomplished are he's still finding ways to improve. Which is why he has been so successful off the field Willie McGinest realized that if there is one thing you learn in life it's that you can always continue to learn, and there's always room for improvement. Follow him on Twitter, and catch him live on NFL Network as football season swings into gear!
