Afropunk: A Safe Haven From Society

Terri Burns had an eye opening experience via social media, courtesy of the Afropunk festival in Brooklyn. An atmosphere full of self appreciation, unity, and care-free creativity she was immersed into this safe haven for black culture. With the ever increasing tension within our nation it's refreshing to read a story filled with such love and comfort amidst all the hate and anguish. It's good to know that although our nation has reached a state of turmoil we are constantlyreminded by people like Terri Burns and the many others who attended/were apart of Afropunk to spread love, show compassion, and accept all without judgement.
